Arturo Valenzuela

Director of the Center for Latin American Studies at Georgetown University, has held positions at many prestigious institutions. During the Clinton Administration, Valenzuela served as special assistant to the President and senior director for Inter-American Affairs at the National Security Council, advising on foreign, defense, intelligence, economic, and other policy issues, managing the formulation and implementation of multilateral and bilateral foreign policy initiatives in the Americas; and directing U.S. responses to regional crises.

Jose Miguel Insulza

Secretary General, OAS. Insulza was elected OAS Secretary General on May 2, 2005, and took office on May 26. Insulza has a long record of public service, most recently serving as his countryąs Vice President and Minister of Interior in Chile. Previously, he held posts in the foreign ministry, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of Multilateral Economic Affairs. Before his service in government, Insulza was a professor and researcher for two decades.
